Funding fit
Living Rock Academy was not in the Texas TEFA participating-school finder when we checked on October 11, 2026. Schools can apply at any time if they meet the accreditation and two-year operating requirements, so ask whether it has applied. Meanwhile, look at the school's own aid, the federal scholarship tax credit starting in January 2027, and the participating schools nearby listed below.
The school also offers pre-K. TEFA pays the full award for 3- and 4-year-olds who meet one of the state's free pre-K criteria, which include free or reduced-price lunch eligibility, limited English and having an active-duty military parent. Kindergarten eligibility is broader, so a child can stay at the same school.
Christian schools often offer church-member rates, sponsorships and sibling discounts, and the state's guidelines say those discounts must continue for TEFA families. Church-run schools may also qualify for the Edu Fund partner scholarship, which has no income cap.

In the U.S. Department of Education's Private School Survey (2023-24), the school reported 106 K-12 students, 18 full-time-equivalent teachers, a 5.7297297297:1 student-teacher ratio, 67% of the previous year's graduates going on to four-year colleges and a 163-day school year.

Questions to ask
- Have you applied to TEFA, and when do you expect a decision?
- What is tuition for my child's grade, and which fees (registration, books, technology, uniforms, lunch) can come from the account?
- Which discounts do you offer, such as sibling, church member or military, and what aid is there for the balance?
- Will you accept the TEFA payment schedule (25% July, 25% October, 50% February), or do you need a deposit from personal funds?
- Are you an approved TEFA pre-K provider, and do you take child care assistance for after-care?
- Which dual-credit partners do you use, and can those course fees come from the account?
