Funding fit
Acton Academy North San Antonio was in the Texas Comptroller's TEFA participating-school finder when we checked on October 11, 2026, so a student with a Texas Education Freedom Account can use it here. For 2026-27 the account is $10,474 per student. It's paid to the school through the Odyssey platform in three deposits: 25% on July 1, 25% on October 1 and 50% on February 1. To be in the program, a school has to be accredited by a TEPSAC-recognized body or TEA, have operated for at least two school years, and give a norm-referenced test every year in grades 3-12.
The school also offers pre-K. TEFA pays the full award for 3- and 4-year-olds who meet one of the state's free pre-K criteria, which include free or reduced-price lunch eligibility, limited English and having an active-duty military parent. Kindergarten eligibility is broader, so a child can stay at the same school.
Independent schools set their own need-based aid. A school can take a TEFA award into account when it decides aid, but it can't charge a TEFA family a different tuition.
