Sacred Heart Catholic School

Catholic School for grades PK-12 in Floresville. In the TEFA finder. Below: what funding fits, what the public records show, and what to ask.

Where this comes from. TEFA participation is from the Texas Education Freedom Accounts participating-school finder (Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts), which we checked on October 11, 2026. Enrollment, teachers, religious orientation and associations are from the NCES Private School Survey (U.S. Department of Education) (2023-24, or 2021-22 where noted). Neither source reports tuition, so confirm tuition with the school.

What the account adds up to over 13 years, kindergarten through grade 12, at the 2026-27 amount

Sacred Heart Catholic School was in the Texas Comptroller's TEFA participating-school finder when we checked on October 11, 2026, so a student with a Texas Education Freedom Account can use it here. For 2026-27 the account is $10,474 per student. It's paid to the school through the Odyssey platform in three deposits: 25% on July 1, 25% on October 1 and 50% on February 1. To be in the program, a school has to be accredited by a TEPSAC-recognized body or TEA, have operated for at least two school years, and give a norm-referenced test every year in grades 3-12.

The school also offers pre-K. TEFA pays the full award for 3- and 4-year-olds who meet one of the state's free pre-K criteria, which include free or reduced-price lunch eligibility, limited English and having an active-duty military parent. Kindergarten eligibility is broader, so a child can stay at the same school.

As a Catholic school, it is part of a system the Archdiocese of San Antonio says takes TEFA on all 35 of its campuses. If a family doesn't receive TEFA, the Archdiocese's Hope for the Future tuition assistance is the next place to look. Parish and sibling rates must keep applying for TEFA families.

Questions to ask

  1. Are you confirming seats for families awarded in the next TEFA cycle, and how do you handle late awards?
  2. What is tuition for my child's grade, and which fees (registration, books, technology, uniforms, lunch) can come from the account?
  3. Which discounts do you offer, such as sibling, church member or military, and what aid is there for the balance?
  4. Will you accept the TEFA payment schedule (25% July, 25% October, 50% February), or do you need a deposit from personal funds?
  5. Are you an approved TEFA pre-K provider, and do you take child care assistance for after-care?
  6. Which dual-credit partners do you use, and can those course fees come from the account?
