Funding fit
River City Believers Academy was in the Texas Comptroller's TEFA participating-school finder when we checked on October 11, 2026, so a student with a Texas Education Freedom Account can use it here. For 2026-27 the account is $10,474 per student. It's paid to the school through the Odyssey platform in three deposits: 25% on July 1, 25% on October 1 and 50% on February 1. To be in the program, a school has to be accredited by a TEPSAC-recognized body or TEA, have operated for at least two school years, and give a norm-referenced test every year in grades 3-12.
The school also offers pre-K. TEFA pays the full award for 3- and 4-year-olds who meet one of the state's free pre-K criteria, which include free or reduced-price lunch eligibility, limited English and having an active-duty military parent. Kindergarten eligibility is broader, so a child can stay at the same school.
Christian schools often offer church-member rates, sponsorships and sibling discounts, and the state's guidelines say those discounts must continue for TEFA families. Church-run schools may also qualify for the Edu Fund partner scholarship, which has no income cap. The registered name suggests a school run by a congregation, which is the kind of school our partner fund is built around.

In the U.S. Department of Education's Private School Survey (2023-24), the school reported 180 K-12 students, 19 full-time-equivalent teachers, a 9.3264248705:1 student-teacher ratio, 65% of the previous year's graduates going on to four-year colleges and a 156-day school year.

Questions to ask
- Are you confirming seats for families awarded in the next TEFA cycle, and how do you handle late awards?
- What is tuition for my child's grade, and which fees (registration, books, technology, uniforms, lunch) can come from the account?
- Which discounts do you offer, such as sibling, church member or military, and what aid is there for the balance?
- Will you accept the TEFA payment schedule (25% July, 25% October, 50% February), or do you need a deposit from personal funds?
- Are you an approved TEFA pre-K provider, and do you take child care assistance for after-care?
- Which dual-credit partners do you use, and can those course fees come from the account?
